Currently on view at the Hatton Gallery at Colorado State University through December 22, Sama Alshaibi’s solo exhibition "Silsila” explores landscapes in fifteen predominantly Muslim countries. DARIA Magazine writer, Clare Gucwa, finds this question posed by the work: “What will happen to humanity once our habitable environment disappears or changes beyond solvability?"
In her review, Gucwa meditates on this link Alshaibi makes between humanity and environment. "The realistic and fantastical qualities of these images, the intimate setting the viewer is a part of when experiencing the works, and the constant tension between water and desert in the pieces all contribute to forging these connections."
