Levant Summer exhibition at Ayyam Damascus. From 04/07 till 15/08/2009. Vernissage: Saturday 4th of July at 7:00pm. Four of the most influential artists from the Levant, Samia Halaby from Palestine, Nadim Karam from Lebanon, Nassouh Zaghlouleh and Mouneer Al-Shaarani from Syria join hands for this exhibition showcasing their latest works. This exhibition will be an occasion to introduce Nadim Karam's works for the first time in Syria. Working in a variety of mediums, this versatile Lebanese artist is known for his groundbreaking urban design and cutting-edge paintings and sculptures. Referred to by The New York Times as "mind-blowing", Nadim Karam is a world renowned architect and urban designer who was completed monumental projects in Melbourne, Tokyo, Prague and Dubai. Karam is most famous for "The Cloud" concept which outlines a massive public entertainment complex containing floating gardens, a lake, restaurants, a palace and a museum suspended in the air by rain-like stilts and covered with artificial condensation. Please join us in Damascus for the opening as all four artists will be in attendance.
