Ammar al-Beik and Tammam Azzam are featured in Away from Home, which opens at the Kunstlerforum Bonn on 27 August. This travelling exhibition originated at the Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim last year, and highlights displaced Syrian artists who recently immigrated to Germany.

Al-Beik is represented with a selection of works from his Lost Images series, which was expanded after he relocated to Berlin. In several new works, al-Beik connects the stories of a displaced Syrian woman to the experiences of a German woman who escaped Nazi persecution and fled to the United States several decades earlier.

Azzam is featured with works from his Bon Voyage and I, The Syrian series, archival prints that went viral in 2012 due to their poignant imagery.
