Ammar al Beik is invited to speak at the University of Bergamo on 7 April in a seminar titled Exile Today, which will include a screening of his 2014 film La Dolce Siria. The seminar is organised by Paola Gandolfi, Professor of Anthropology of the Maghreb and the Middle East for undergraduate third year students and graduate students on behalf of the University of Bergamo’s Department of Human and Social Sciences.  

 

Filmed in al Beik’s native Syria at the start of the war, La Dolce Siria has been screened in international film festivals across Europe.
