Ammar al-Beik’s photographs are featured in the recently opened exhibition, Islamic Art Now, Part 2: Contemporary Art of the Middle East, which highlights the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s permanent collection of contemporary art from North Africa and West Asia.
Al-Beik is represented with Maximum Alert (2008) and The Story Believers (2008), from his Lost Images series, which were acquired by the museum in 2014. The series is based on found images that al-Beik discovered after purchasing rolls of vintage film from marketplaces in Syria.
