Ayyam Gallery is pleased to announce its first participation at Investec Cape Town Art Fair from 15 - 17 February 2019 alongside some of the most influential African and international galleries. Our booth will feature a selection of works by Sadik Kwaish Alfraji, Safwan Dahoul, Samia Halaby, Thaier Helal and Afshin Pirhashemi.

Ayyam Gallery’s internationally recognized artists have collectively extended the boundaries of representation and thus reshaped the region’s visual culture. Sadik Kwaish Alfraji, Safwan Dahoul, and Afshin Pirhashemi are figurative painters who tackle a variety of themes, such as issues of existence, identity, alienation, society, and gender. Samia Halaby and Thaier Helal both contemporary abstract painters apply a formalist approach to redirect ways of seeing and thinking within the realm of aesthetics and culture.

The seventh edition of Invested Cape Town Art Fair carrying the titled TOMORROW/TODAY highlights a wide spectrum of artistic practices with the ongoing theme of transformation and experimentation. Showcasing unorthodox art forms that address current social and political issues, while also shining light on emerging and under-represented artists, set to be tomorrow’s leading names.

By tapping into the Sub-Saharan African art market Ayyam Gallery not only wishes to broaden African and international collectors knowledge of Middle Eastern artists but also recognizes the talent and forefront of contemporary African art. In an effort to bring African art closer to the Middle Eastern audience, Ayyam Gallery is looking forward to soon showcasing a diversity of vibrant African artists in our space in Dubai.
