Ayyam Editions

20 June - 31 July, 2011

Press Release

Ayyam Gallery DIFC will present “Ayyam Editions" from June 20 to July 31, a special summer exhibition featuring limited edition archival prints by photographer Ammar Al-Beik and painters Safwan Dahoul and Khaled Takreti. Representing some of the region’s leading trendsetters, this forthcoming event will be the first time that Ayyam Editions are showcased outside of Ayyam Auctions, where many have sold beyond initial estimates.

Meeting the rising international demand for contemporary Middle Eastern art, these archival prints of masterworks are produced in series of 7 and 25 using the latest high-quality inkjetbased technology. This innovative printmaking technique allows for a brilliant, fade-resistant resolution, while offering clients the exceptional opportunity to own works by in-demand artists.

Ideal for budding art collectors, the value of an Ayyam Edition rises as a series begins to sell out. Once a series is sold out it is no longer reproduced, increasing the value of each edition, as it becomes part of the secondary market. All prints are signed and certified. Although priced significantly lower than original art works, limited edition prints are part of a long tradition in international art in which the oeuvres of seminal artists such as Picasso were made more accessible to art lovers worldwide. While prints are just beginning to take hold in the Middle Eastern art market, they are becoming increasingly prevalent among regional art holdings.

The limited edition form is also an excellent way for developers and those in the hospitality industry to incorporate Ayyam Gallery artworks into their projects in a cost effective manner. Previous corporate clients have attested to gaining a certain edge when incorporating limited edition artwork into the overall branding of their operations. Ayyam Editions in hotel rooms are the perfect compliment to original artworks in public areas such as lobbies and are already in place at some of the region’s top luxury hotels including Le Gray Hotel, Beirut and the Four Seasons (Beirut, Damascus).
